Featured 4-H Scholar: Anna Krueger

Meet Anna Krueger, a freshman at the University of Wisconsin -River Falls, 4-H alum from Washington County and 2014 recipient of the CCI Innovation in Agriculture Scholarship from the Minnesota 4-H Foundation.

Anna has been an active member of 4-H for 13 years at both the club and county level. She's filled multiple leadership roles in the Soil Savers 4-H Club including president, vice president, historian and reporter and recently completed a term as president of the Washington County 4-H Federation. She has also proudly served as a youth leader in her county 4-H ambassador program, organizing various educational workshops and events throughout the years.

"Serving as a youth leader with Washington County 4-H has helped me to discover that I have a passion for helping others experience 4-H. I plan on being a volunteer in the 4-H program, giving future generations of youth the same opportunities to experience the fantastic program that I have had during my 4-H career."

Anna was an active member of the National Honor Society during her high school years, volunteering for various service projects through her local chapter. She has also engaged in community service events and activities through her church and 4-H county program.

Anna is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in agricultural education, with the aspiration of working as a 4-H Program Coordinator with either the University of Minnesota Extension or the University of Wisconsin-Extension. She is minoring in animal science, dairy science, and Spanish. The time she spent raising and caring for livestock in 4-H influenced her minor selection, and where she can continue to increase her knowledge of livestock. She also plans on owning and operating a farm that specializes in dairy goats, her favorite 4-H project area.

Ann Church, 4-H Program Coordinator for Washington County, had this to say of Anna: "Anna is a shining example of a well-rounded individual. She is always upbeat, positive, thoughtful, organized, responsible and respectful. With her work ethic and positive attitude she will achieve whatever goals she sets for herself."

Congratulations to Anna Krueger, a very worthy recipient of this annual scholarship award!
