Minnesota farmers help grow communities through 4-H

$17,500 was recently donated by Minnesota farmers in support of local 4-H programs across the state. We're grateful for the America's Farmers: Grow Communities grant program from the Monsanto Fund for facilitating this generous donation.

Nancy Keene selected Washington County 4-H to receive $2,500
"The plan for the money will be to make improvements in the 4-H building at the county fairgrounds." -Washington County 4-H Program Coordinator Ann Church

Mike Maas selected Big Stone County 4-H to receive $2,500
"Funding from the Monsanto's America's Farmers Grow Communities grant will be use to purchase needed equipment for the Big Stone County Shooting Sports Program." Big Stone County 4-H Program Coordinator Suzanne Sousa

Brad Larson selected Grant County 4-H to receive $2,500
"What a wonderful surprise! Grant County will used the funds to support growing the 4-H programming and giving new opportunities to 4-H'ers." -Grant County 4-H Program Coordinator Stephanie Grimes

Laura Plenge selected the West Albany Winners 4-H Club of Wabasha County to receive $2,500
"The funds from Monsanto will support our club members through scholarships to attend various leadership activities offered in southeast Minnesota, as well as, help us to offer more science-based learning opportunities (like animal science and STEM activities) within our club!" -Volunteer Club Leader Jolene Harvey, Wabasha County 4-H

Elizabeth Brainard selected Norman County 4-H to receive $2,500 
"This donation from Monsanto will be used to help sponsor 4-H youth in leadership opportunities and to support 4-H youth programming in Norman County.  We were honored to be selected and grateful for the gift." -Norman County 4-H Program Coordinator Linda Houglum

Michelle Waletzko selected Chisago County 4-H to receive $2,500
There are many new and exciting opportunities that are opening up in 4-H in Chisago County. The support received from the Monsanto Fund (America's Farmers Grows Communities) will strengthen our ability to offer STEM, leadership, animal science and more engaging learning opportunities to the youth in Chisago County. -Chisago County 4-H Program Coordinator Jeremy Freeman
