Siehl Prize Laureate donates prize money to local 4-H program

Dr. Stanley Diesch, a 2015 Siehl Prize Laureate, along with his wife Darlene, had an exciting opportunity when his award was announced: where to invest the prize money so that they could encourage the next generation of passionate learners in Minnesota.

In honor of their two grandsons, Andrew and Steven Wagner, Dr. and Mrs. Diesch donated $1,000 to support the 4-H program in Chisago County.

"We donated this in thankfulness to 4-H for its benefit for our two grandsons who grew up in Chisago County and were in 4-H their whole lives until age 19."

Gifts in support of local 4-H programs can really make a difference for youth as they explore their diverse interest areas and build leadership skills.

"We are grateful to be able to use this donation to fund and expand our reach with the 2nd year of GREY (Growing Responsible & Empowered Youth)," said Jeremy Freeman, Chisago County 4-H program coordinator. "This youth-led leadership conference empowers Chisago County youth to make a difference in their communities by recognizing and using their unique gifts, strengths and passions."

Thank you to Dr. and Mrs. Diesch for their generous support of 4-H programs that empower all youth to learn, lead and succeed.
